Hi, I’m Joanne Tracey, the Hungry Writer.

I’m an author, blogger, baker, candlestick maker. Okay, I don’t make candlesticks, but I do write words, chase sunrises and create happy endings.

Because the world would be a nicer place if only there was more tea and scones.

Pretty murky rainy walk this morning. There’s a beach out there somewhere. Thanks @pietalyons for braving the elements & the early morning.
Off to the airport soon but not before one last look at this fabulous town. Queenstown, it’s been good to be back - hopefully we won’t have to wait so long between visits next time. #queenstown #queenstownnz
Our last full day in Queenstown. A fabulous trip with @nomadsafaris to Glenorchy & Paradise. Amazing to see the Routeburn Track from this perspective. Finished our trip with a fantabulous meal at @thebunkerrestaurantqt
Another fabulous day - brekky at @vudularder, wine tasting in the Gibbston Valley, dinner at @whiteandwongsqueenstown #queenstown #queenstownnz
Part 2 of our Skippers Canyon trip. Thanks @4wdexpeditionsnz #queenstown #queenstownnz #skipperscanyon
We spent this morning in a 4wd exploring Skippers Canyon with @4wdexpeditionsnz Scenery was just stunning, spectacular & every other adjective like that. #queenstown #queenstownnz #skipperscanyon #werenotheretoski
I’d forgotten just how awesome it is to fly into Queenstown over the southern alps. Just magical. I hadn’t, however, forgotten how stunning this place is. It’s the first time I’ve been here in the winter & it’s cold, but nothing a mulled wine can’t fix. Dinner tonight at Blue Kanu. NZ, I’ve missed you. @sarahtracey243 #queenstown #queenstownnz #newzealand
A super quick fly in to Sydney today before our early flight out to Queenstown tomorrow. Time to grab some dumplings, wander down to the Quay, and grab a cheeky cocktail at the Opera Bar. In other news, it appears I’ve left my laptop charger back on the sunny coast - something I only realised too late this afternoon to do anything about it. Heigh ho. It’s the universe telling me I can’t log on.
